Beryl Henderson founded W6 Garden Centre in 2011 under the railway arches beside Ravenscourt Park station, having started N1 Garden Centre in Islington a decade before. The Ravenscourt Avenue site combines a plant nursery stocking shrubs, perennials and bedding plants with the Green Room, an indoor houseplant space, and a café serving food and drink among the plants. In 2017 the centre won Best Boutique Garden Centre at the Garden Retail Awards and has since exhibited a stand at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Henderson is now remembered as the centre's founder, with day-to-day running overseen by manager Louise Alhadeff, and the business has stayed on this single site rather than expanding elsewhere. The garden centre opens Monday to Friday 9am-5:45pm, Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday and bank holidays 9:30am-6pm, with the café keeping slightly shorter hours across the same days.
