C. Lidgate has been the butcher on Holland Park Avenue since 1850 — five generations of Lidgates behind the counter, run today by Danny Lidgate. It is one of London's great traditional butchers, sourcing from named family farms, curing its own charcuterie, and making the pies and prepared dishes that Holland Park has bought for well over a century. A single, famous shop rather than a chain, and all the better for it. Order the dry-aged beef, or one of the pies; both have earned their reputation.
