Balmillig is run from their own home on Colquhoun Street in Helensburgh by John and Anne Urquhart, a former geography teacher and PE teacher who have been welcoming bed and breakfast guests together for many years. The house sits in garden surroundings within walking distance of the seafront and offers ensuite rooms, off-street parking and an electric car charging point. Breakfasts are cooked using Scottish ingredients and include homemade marmalade, with Fairtrade tea and coffee and gluten-free options available on request. The property lies directly on both the John Muir Way and the Three Lochs Way, making it a regular stop for walkers passing through on either route. Trains from Helensburgh to Glasgow take around forty minutes, putting the B&B within reach of the city while keeping a rural, coastal setting for guests staying overnight.
