Bistro115 occupies the former Dunsandles Guesthouse at 115 Rowson Street in New Brighton, a short walk from the promenade. Owner and chef Michael Evans, known to regulars simply as Mike, has spent over thirty years cooking in restaurants and hotels before opening this bistro with an evolving seasonal menu. The dining room sits alongside Lounge@115, a separate lounge area for drinks, cocktails and desserts. Staff describe the kitchen as hands-on, with Evans still cooking service most nights. The bistro is closed on Sundays and Mondays, with bookings taken by phone between 10am and 9pm on other days. Diners are asked not to bring in outside cakes, since the kitchen bakes its own desserts in house. The building's guesthouse past is still visible in its layout, giving the bistro a slightly domestic, front-room feel rather than a standard restaurant shopfront.
