Borrisdale Tweed trades from the former Leverburgh post office, a building known locally as the Cauldron, beside the village mill pond in South Harris. The business designs and makes homewares and accessories from single-width Harris Tweed woven to its own commissioned patterns, producing more than 90 per cent of its range itself in an attached workshop. Products include cushions, bedspreads, throws, leather handbags, holdalls, laptop cases, caps and scarves, with plain silhouettes chosen to let the cloth's texture and colour carry each piece. The shop opens Monday to Thursday from noon to 6pm and Friday and Saturday from noon to 7pm, and the business asks visitors travelling to check its Facebook page for closure days outside the main season. Leverburgh sits at the southern tip of Harris close to the ferry crossing to North Uist, putting the shop on the route of travellers moving between the two islands.
