Buckingham OldGaol

Buckingham Old Gaol stands on Market Hill, run as a volunteer-staffed museum by the Buckingham Old Gaol Trust, registered charity 292807. Visitors walk the cells that held poachers — one in three prisoners was one — drunks and the odd murderer, and inspect coins from the £1.35m Lenborough Hoard plus a rare Half-Angel unearthed in 2021 within two miles. A permanent Flora Thompson room sits alongside local history displays. Adults £5, children £2.50; open 10am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday.
