Redfield Pottery

Redfield Pottery is a small ceramics studio on Buckingham Road in Winslow, run by potter Sabine Dahn, who divides her time between making her own earthenware and teaching a regular programme of classes. Sessions cover both hand building and wheel throwing, pitched at complete beginners as well as people returning to clay after a gap, with groups kept small enough for Dahn to work with each person at the wheel individually. Her own pieces favour simple, functional forms, jugs, bowls and mugs, finished with energetic, hand-painted decoration rather than heavy glazing. The studio doubles as a teaching space and a small gallery of finished work, and pieces are sold directly from the premises rather than through a separate shop. It also takes part in the annual Bucks Art Weeks open-studio trail, when the workshop itself opens to visitors.
