Cardigan BayWatersports

Cardigan Bay Watersports runs from a single centre on Sandy Slip in New Quay's sheltered harbour, opened in July 2003 as a project of the town's development company, Cei Dev Ltd, with EU Objective 1 and Sport Lot funding for the building, boats and equipment, on a site provided by Ceredigion County Council. In 2006 the centre became a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, taking over its own management independently of Cei Dev the following year. It teaches and hires out kayaks, paddleboards, sailing and windsurfing equipment and powerboats, alongside RYA-recognised courses in navigation and VHF radio use, and runs sessions for schools and groups as an AALA-recognised centre. The centre operates from the one New Quay base rather than multiple sites, its season running from Easter to the end of September.
