Cathays BeerHouse

Cathays Beer House occupies a former post office on Crwys Road, converted into a micropub that serves its beer on gravity rather than through hand pumps. Up to three rotating ales are available at any time alongside a selection of boxed ciders from breweries around the country, plus bottled and canned craft beer for those who prefer it. The pub is owned by Micro Dog House Ltd and keeps the fittings simple, with basic décor that leans into the building's former function rather than disguising it. A small garden patio opens in summer, and dogs are welcome inside as well as out. The pub won Cardiff CAMRA's Cider and Perry Pub of the Year, recognition that reflects the range kept behind the counter rather than any renovation.
