Catherine Bond established CB Plants in 2017 at Lower Severalls Nursery on the edge of Crewkerne, a single site she runs herself. The nursery grows cottage garden perennials, hardy plants, culinary and medicinal herbs, aromatic plants and native wildflowers, propagated using peat-free compost without pesticides, with an emphasis on varieties that support pollinators. Bond's plant selections were featured in Abigail Willis's book The Secret Gardens of Somerset, published by Frances Lincoln. The nursery opens to visitors from March to September, Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm, closing over winter while stock is propagated for the following season. Customers include gardeners seeking cottage-garden varieties not typically stocked by larger garden centres, as well as those planting specifically for wildlife.
