Cribyn Coffee Company is a small-batch roastery run by Rhys and Gwen from a restored coach house at Scethrog, on the road between Brecon and Crickhowell. Rhys spent years roasting for Marks & Spencer and Starbucks before returning to Wales to roast on his own terms; Gwen, a working veterinarian, handles cupping and bean selection in her spare hours. They roast entirely Arabica beans bought through direct trade, with single origins currently drawn from Brazil, Ethiopia and Rwanda. The coach house itself is around three centuries old, its stone walls now home to a Probat roaster rather than carriages and horses. Coffee is sold online and through a handful of local farm shops and delis rather than a walk-in counter. A share of profits goes to Brecon Mountain Rescue and the charity Treloar.
