The Hours Café& Bookshop

The Hours is a bookshop and café by the cathedral in Brecon, opened in 2010 by Leigh Hendra and Nicola Bickerton — a partnership of books and cooking, which is exactly what the place is: a hand-picked bookshop you can sit and eat in, or a café you can read in, depending on why you came. It moved to Cathedral Close in 2022 and has kept the thing that got it praised in the national press — a small, opinionated stock and good food, run by two people who care about both. Brecon is the market town at the foot of the Bannau; The Hours is the reason to linger there. Books and lunch, under one roof.
