Dore Cafe has run from the same shopfront on Dore's High Street since 2020 under directors Hayley and Michael Stones. The kitchen turns out a short, home-cooked breakfast and lunch menu: full English breakfasts, roasted tomato soup, artisan rolls, poached eggs on toast, and a gluten-free option on most dishes. Afternoon tea can be ordered ahead for collection, packed into boxes rather than served on tiered stands. Seating is limited, so the café fills quickly at weekends and tables turn over fast rather than encouraging long stays. It opens from eight in the morning on weekdays, half an hour later on Saturdays, and stays closed on Sundays. The till also handles takeaway orders for anyone passing through Dore village without time to sit down.
