Elena, originally from Santander, opened her Spanish bar and restaurant on Old Dumbarton Road in June 2016. The kitchen makes everything from scratch, working from a mix of imported Spanish staples and Scottish produce for a tapas and raciones menu running from patatas bravas and gambas al ajillo to grilled meats and several styles of paella. A separate fryer is kept solely for gluten-free orders. Guests are brought a complimentary tapa as soon as they sit down, and the dessert list includes a homemade crema catalana. Thursday evenings bring live music into the dining room. Dogs are welcome at the tables, on the understanding, as the menu jokes, that owners behave themselves. The restaurant sits toward Kelvingrove, just off the Finnieston strip on Argyle Street.
