Elizabeth's Cake Shop is run by Stephen Brown, who bakes everything sold in the shop himself, starting at four each morning. Brown worked at the original Elizabeth's in Ballyhackamore for twenty years before buying that shop and running it himself for a further eleven. When it changed hands again and dropped the Elizabeth's name, Brown found a bakery for sale on the Belmont Road and revived the name there. The shop sells savoury and sweet in equal measure: sausage rolls and fresh cream pastries alongside traditional Ulster items such as soda farls, potato farls and pancakes. Three schools sit within walking distance, and the shop trades on a busy retail stretch of the Belmont Road. The Elizabeth's name has now been in use across both sites for fifty years.
