Framewerk operates as both a bespoke picture-framing workshop and a gallery space at 10 Upper Newtownards Road, in the Holywood Arches area of East Belfast. The business, which describes its own outlook as leftfield, has traded from the same shopfront for more than a decade, framing paintings, photographs, textiles and memorabilia for customers as well as showing and selling work from both local and international artists on its walls. The gallery side gives space to home-grown talent alongside more established names, with the framing side of the business running in parallel rather than as an afterthought. It operates from this single premises, without other locations in Belfast, and has taken part in the Belfast International Arts Festival programme as a venue. Framewerk keeps regular daytime opening hours through most of the week, closing on Sundays, and continues to serve both walk-in framing customers and visitors to its exhibitions.
