The Frogmore Street Gallery in Abergavenny is run as a not-for-profit cooperative by members of the Black Mountains Circle, a group of more than thirty artists and craftspeople working in ceramics, glass, jewellery, woodturning, textiles and metal. The gallery replaced the Circle's former base at the Court Cupboard Craft Gallery, giving members a shared space on Frogmore Street to sell work directly rather than through a dealer. Pieces on display change as members rotate stock, and the gallery runs a programme of guest exhibitions roughly every two months, giving visiting artists from outside the group a chance to show alongside the regular members. Several members also teach workshops, either in the gallery or from their own studios nearby. No single owner takes a cut of sales beyond covering shared running costs; proceeds go to the maker of each piece. The gallery opens daily from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
