George Payne Butchers has traded from the same shop in Brunton Park, Gosforth, since 1987, selling locally sourced beef, lamb and pork alongside sausages and pies made on the premises. The shop is a member of the Q Guild of butchers, has been named Northumbria Butcher of the Year, and has featured in Rick Stein's Food Heroes guide to regional producers.
