Mixed-media artist Jonathan Antony opened FIKA next to Morpeth's clock tower on 16 March 2024, combining an exhibition space with a café under one roof. Original paintings, ceramics and prints from North East artists hang for sale at prices between £50 and £5,000, alongside a rolling programme of shows. The café side serves Italian coffee and pastries brought in daily from Newcastle's Pink Lane Bakery, with dog-friendly tables for up to 52 guests and a takeaway counter for passing trade. A studio space at the rear hosts workshops for varying abilities, run by visiting tutors rather than gallery staff. FIKA also takes private bookings for events outside café hours. It opens seven days a week, closing slightly earlier on Sundays.
