Alice and Tom Fox run Hot Fox Pottery from a converted loft above their own home on Hartington Road, teaching six-week courses alongside one-off taster sessions in throwing and hand-building. Class sizes are kept deliberately small so each potter gets individual attention rather than working alongside a dozen strangers at once. Beyond the regular course timetable, the studio runs raku sessions outdoors in woodland, hen-do bookings, team sessions for local employers and a children's programme during school holidays. All work is made using stoneware clay with a wide range of glazes, and pieces are fired on site before collection. The studio's two cats, Alan and Dodo, tend to make an appearance during weekday sessions. Free parking nearby makes it manageable for people driving in from outside Hanover, and one-to-one consultancy sessions are available for potters wanting more specific guidance.
