Terre à Terre has served vegetarian and vegan food from East Street, near Brighton's seafront, since 1993. The kitchen builds small plates and sharing platters around techniques such as miso, soy and sesame, carried through into an afternoon tea service alongside the usual scones. The wine list runs to organic and biodynamic bottles, including a 'Brit Pop' selection sourced from vineyards across Sussex. A.A. Gill of the Sunday Times called it "most probably the best vegetarian restaurant in Britain." The restaurant also runs a graduation menu, a Sunday sharing set and a non-alcoholic 'Spirited Away' list for diners who skip alcohol, and it holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand alongside an AA Rosette.
