The Independent Taproom& Beer Shop

The Independent is a craft beer taproom and bottle shop on Queens Park Road in Hanover, owned and run by local resident Matt Russell. On site is a nano-brewery, Moon Brewery, where head brewer Martyn Haddock produces a rotating range of styles, from fruited sours to pale ales and stouts. The taproom pours around 20 beers on draught alongside more than 200 canned beers to take away, a wine list and a small spirits selection. The venue trades under the line 'independent by name, independent by nature' and has built a reputation among Hanover locals as a neighbourhood beer destination rather than a bar aimed at visitors. It is open Monday 4-11pm, Tuesday to Saturday midday to 11pm, and Sunday midday to 10pm.
