La Storia is an Italian restaurant on Musters Road in West Bridgford, opened in 2016 by Anton Sarricchio, whose grandparents emigrated from Accettura, a village in the Basilicata region of southern Italy, in the 1950s. The menu draws on recipes learned in his Nonna's kitchen, moving away from generic trattoria fare toward regional Italian dishes paired with Italian wines. Sarricchio has described the aim as showing that Italian cooking today bears little resemblance to the pizza-and-pasta formula found on many British high streets. The dining room seats guests in a compact, single site with no other branches, and the kitchen is run as a family operation. Company records show La Storia Limited was incorporated in November 2015, shortly before opening.
