Debbie Bryan opened her design studio in the Lace Market in 2007, beginning with handcrafted scarves and resin jewellery before expanding into a gallery and workshop space above St Peter's Gate. A meeting with Nick Povey of the Fewkes Lace Embroidery Company, Nottingham's last lace manufacturer, led Bryan to start a Nottingham Lace Archive in 2010, preserving samples and patterns from the city's textile trade. The shop sells made-to-measure lace pieces, jewellery, prints and ceramics from a roster of makers, alongside Bryan's own textile designs. Upstairs, the studio runs bookable Crafternoon sessions covering printmaking, papercraft, floristry and textile techniques, split across adult and children's sittings. The building is only open Tuesday to Saturday, keeping the pace unhurried. It remains one of the few outlets in the city actively working with genuine Nottingham lace.
