The Lochindaal Hotel sits on Main Street in the conservation village of Port Charlotte, run across several generations of the MacLellan family, with Iain and Katie MacLellan and their five children the latest to take it on. Two bars serve the hotel: a public bar with pool and darts that welcomes dogs, and a lounge bar with a log burner where up to two dozen can sit down to eat. Malt whisky bottles, including rare and unusual Islay expressions, line the shelves of both rooms. Seafood platters are the dish the hotel is best known for locally, prepared to order with 24 hours' notice, and served through the summer months at its adjoining Lochindaal Seafood Kitchen between April and October. Fresh coffee is available through the day alongside the bar trade.
