Chef Jack Phillips moved his bistro from a small unit in Grimsby's Abbeygate to the seafront on Kingsway, taking over the site of the former Captain's Table. Days start with breakfast and brunch service before the kitchen shifts, Thursday to Saturday, into an evening set menu paired with wine and house cocktails. The move gave Phillips more covers and a direct view over the promenade, something the original Grimsby premises lacked. Dishes change with the seasons rather than following a fixed printed menu, and the dining room keeps a cosy, unfussy character rather than reaching for formality. Locals return for the wine pairings as much as the food itself, and gift vouchers are sold for both daytime and evening sittings.
