Home to the Caxton Players, an amateur theatre society that gave its first public performance in February 1943; the building itself began as a Primitive Methodist church, became the Premier Cinema in 1922, and was converted into a 174-seat theatre in 1983, where the group still stages around eight full productions a year including a seasonal pantomime.
