No.2 Refreshment Room is an independent free house set in the old refreshment room on the platform at Cleethorpes railway station, on Station Approach. Owner Paul runs it as a micropub, keeping two regular cask beers alongside up to five rotating guests drawn from national and independent breweries, plus a range of ciders. The single small room is given over to conversation, with no music or gaming machines, and there is a covered, heated area off the station concourse for milder days. It has become a fixture of the Cleethorpes real-ale circuit and a first or last stop for drinkers arriving by train. The beer list changes constantly, with the landlord known for tracking down unusual casks for regulars to try. Opening hours run through the week, and the pub is a short walk from the seafront.
