Ormeau Brewing Co. is a nanobrewery set up by Andy MacLeod, an Australian who settled in Belfast after meeting his future wife during a visit to the city in 2009. MacLeod had built up twenty-five years of home brewing experience before starting the business in 2021 from a small site at Knock Eden Park in south Belfast, launching commercially in 2022. The brewery makes a small, rotating range of beers, including a Belgian-style beer called Monk's, a wheat beer called Homesick brewed with Australian hops, and a Vienna-malt beer called Symphony, in keg and can format, brewed using renewable electricity. There is no public taproom or shop at the site; beer is distributed to bars, restaurants and independent bottle shops around Belfast instead. The brewery has stayed at nano scale rather than expanding production, positioning itself as a supplier to the local on-trade rather than a destination venue in its own right.
