Prufrock Coffee opened on Leather Lane in 2011, founded by Gwilym Davies, winner of the 2009 World Barista Championship, alongside Jeremy Challender and Klaus Kuhnke. The counter rotates coffee from Square Mile Roasters and guest names such as Tim Wendelboe, Five Elephant and Koppi, changing hoppers as beans sell through. Staff run barista training courses upstairs, a legacy of the founders' background in competition brewing. Leather Lane's market stalls still set up outside the door on weekdays, and the wooden benches inside fill with local office workers and coffee professionals visiting from abroad to see where a world champion chose to open shop.
