Central Schoolof Jewellery

Based in Albion Buildings on Back Hill, close to Hatton Garden's jewellery quarter, the Central School of Jewellery runs hands-on courses rather than selling finished pieces. Classes are capped at seven students, taught by lead tutor Sandra alongside working goldsmiths, and range from eight-week evening and morning courses to four-week full-day sessions and weekend intensives for beginners and practising jewellers alike. Specialist masterclasses cover engraving and gemstone setting, and couples can book a private session to make their own wedding bands under supervision. The workshop sits a short walk from Farringdon station, in the streets that have anchored London's diamond trade since the nineteenth century. Students work at benches equipped for piercing, soldering and stone-setting, taking home whatever they make rather than a certificate. An eight-week evening or morning course costs a set fee.
