Riverside GardenCentre

Riverside Garden Centre has traded from Clift House Road in Southville since 1987, describing itself as Bristol's largest independent plant centre. The site holds a broad stock of houseplants, garden plants, pots and gardening sundries, with staff on hand for planting advice. It operates as a social enterprise, putting some proceeds toward local community and environmental projects rather than distributing them purely as profit. A vegetarian cafe with a sun terrace and children's play area sits alongside the plant sales area, making it as much a destination for a coffee as for compost. The centre is open seven days a week and draws customers from across south Bristol. It remains a single, family-founded site rather than part of a wider group, distinguishing it from the national garden centre chains operating elsewhere in the city.
