S.A. Mackie is a village butcher on Aberlour High Street, opened in April 2018 by Stewart Mackie, who also runs a family farm in the hills above the village. The shop sells beef, lamb, pork and chicken alongside a counter of pies, sausage rolls, black pudding and made-on-site haggis, with the farm connection giving Mackie oversight of where much of the meat comes from. The haggis has drawn attention beyond Moray, placing among the leading entries at a World Haggis Championship and being judged best in the north of Scotland. Regular customers single out the steak pies, the pork-and-haggis sausage and the range of ready-to-cook counter items. It is an independent single-site shop with no website, trading from the High Street and taking orders by phone.
