Saxosoul Records is a family-run record shop that first opened in 2017 in Kearton's Yard, just off Bondgate, and moved to larger premises at 96 Bondgate in early 2019. The stock is second-hand and new vinyl across most genres, running from the 1950s through to current releases, and the owners buy, sell and part-exchange records as well as selling them. It sits a couple of minutes from the town's bus stops and about ten from Darlington railway station, with pay-and-display parking nearby. The shop trades as a single independent site and stocks releases from smaller labels and pressing plants alongside its used vinyl. It is the town's only dedicated independent record shop.
