Sourdust Pottery is a working studio in Stocksfield in the Tyne Valley, founded in 1991 by potter John Scott and relocated to its current Kimberley Gardens site around 2000. Pieces are thrown, fired and finished on the premises, with the studio specialising in naked raku and copper matt raku techniques that give each piece a distinct, unrepeatable surface. Alongside production work sold direct from the studio and at exhibitions, Sourdust runs courses and demonstrations for both children and adults wanting to learn wheel-throwing and raku firing. The pottery has supplied gift retailers and galleries across the UK and exhibits regularly at Potfest events, where its founder was named Potter of the Year in 2020.
