Spokes Kitchen

Spokes Kitchen is a family-owned café in Corbridge that grew out of a former cycle shop café on the same site, keeping the bike-friendly welcome after the retail side closed. The kitchen makes cakes, scones and tray bakes on the premises and cooks daily specials and soups from ingredients sourced from local suppliers, alongside gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and vegetarian options. It draws a mix of cyclists on the Corbridge to Hexham routes, day trippers and locals, with dogs welcome inside as well as in the outdoor seating. The café operates as a single site at Gresham House on Watling Street, in the village centre near the river, rather than as part of a wider group. It remains open seven days a week for breakfast, brunch and lunch, and has kept trading through recent cost increases by moving further toward local suppliers rather than cutting quality.
