Andrew Cotterell owns Grant's Bakery on Corbridge's Market Place, having opened his first patisserie business in 1991 supplying wholesale customers including Gleneagles Hotel and Grosvenor House before moving into retail baking. The Corbridge shop bakes bread, patisserie, sausage rolls and cakes by hand daily, with a Tipsy Cake among its regular lines, and offers both indoor seating and tables outside overlooking the Market Place. Grant's won Craft Bakery Business of the Year at the 2025 Baking Industry Awards, having also taken a national category win in 2020. The shop opens seven days a week from early morning, serving a trade that mixes passing tourists with locals collecting bread for the week. Afternoon tea boxes can be ordered ahead for collection.
