Tatha Gallery occupies a restored Georgian building known as The Newport, on the south bank of the River Tay in Newport-on-Tay. Artist Helen Glassford co-founded the gallery with Lindsay Bennett in 2014, taking its name from the Gaelic word for the River Tay. The single-site gallery mounts a changing programme of exhibitions in painting, printmaking, sculpture and applied art, showing established and emerging Scottish artists across several rooms of the Georgian townhouse. Glassford stepped back from day-to-day direction in 2020 to concentrate on her own painting practice, and the gallery has continued under Bennett. Its riverside setting, looking across the water toward Dundee, has helped establish Tatha as a focal point for contemporary Scottish art in north Fife.
