The Art Shop& Chapel

The Art Shop & Chapel is run by owner Pauline Griffiths from two adjoining buildings in Abergavenny: a restored 16th-century town house on Cross Street holding the art materials shop, and a 19th-century chapel on Market Street given over to exhibition space and the Kitchen at the Chapel dining room. The company trades as The Art Shop Abergavenny Ltd. Exhibitions change regularly, showing painting, textiles, ceramics and print by Welsh and Marches-based artists, and the venue runs workshops with visiting painters, printmakers and textile artists. The chapel garden was designed and planted by Sarah Price. The kitchen serves lunches and cakes using produce from the surrounding county. Both buildings stand two minutes' walk apart in the town centre and open Tuesday to Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday.
