The Checkers occupies a former Grade II listed coaching inn on Broad Street in Montgomery, run as a restaurant with rooms by chef Andrew Birch and his wife Rachel since they took over in December 2021. It held a Michelin star between 2012 and 2018 under a previous chef-owner and now serves seasonal, produce-led menus for dinner Wednesday to Saturday and lunch on Friday and Saturday, alongside four guest bedrooms.
