The Crofts occupies a corner of Croft Street in Roath that has held a pub since 1867, though the current building dates only from 1957, rebuilt as a flagship house for Hancocks Brewery after the Luftwaffe destroyed the original in the Cardiff Blitz. Bass Charrington bought the pub in 1970; Wastrel Limited, a local private company, bought it back out of brewery ownership in September 2010, and it has traded as a free house since. The bar keeps pool tables and sports screens for match days and runs a Sunday carvery through the afternoon. Upstairs, refurbished en-suite rooms let the pub double as bed and breakfast accommodation alongside its trade as a local. The original 1867 deeds are framed on the function room wall.
