Fireworks Clay Studios operates from a converted building on Tudor Lane in Riverside, reached through an unmarked door that gives little hint of the working ceramics studio inside. Founded in 1995 by six graduates pooling resources for equipment and kiln space, the co-operative now houses more than twenty ceramic artists working independently under one roof. It is not a retail shop in the conventional sense; the studio holds open days through the year when the public can walk the building, see work in progress and buy pieces directly from the makers. Individual artists' profiles and past work are listed on the studio's website. The model has kept the space running for three decades as one of the longer-established ceramics co-operatives in Wales.
