Kelly's has sold records from the balcony of Cardiff's Victorian covered market since Eddie and Phyllis Kelly started it as a stall in 1969 — one of the longest-running record shops in Wales, now run by their nephew Allan Parkins, who took it on in the early 1990s. The stock is enormous, well past a hundred thousand records, and skewed to the collectable: vinyl for people who know what they are after and are willing to dig. In a market hall full of family stalls, Kelly's is one of the oldest and best-known. Cardiff has two great record shops — Spillers, and this.
