Julian and Justine took on the Crown, a Grade II listed coaching inn on Woodstock's High Street, and reworked it from an ordinary boozer into a boutique hotel, with Julian steering the gastro-pub side of the business and Justine, an interior designer, overseeing the rooms. Five ensuite bedrooms sit above the restaurant, supplemented by a three-bedroom cottage and a separate townhouse apartment, each fitted with superking beds, Egyptian cotton linen and Cowshed toiletries. The kitchen serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily plus a dedicated Sunday menu, with a children's menu and a drinks list covering wine and cocktails. The dining room and courtyard also host weddings, for which the hotel offers a dedicated events package and gift vouchers. The building's 18th-century frontage looks directly onto the high street of one of Oxfordshire's best-preserved market towns.
