The DolphinInn

The Dolphin Inn occupies a building in Dunbar's conservation area, close to East Beach, run as an independent hostel since 2021. Ten rooms across two floors sleep twenty-seven guests between them, ranging from twin and double rooms to a triple and a bunk room, with two of the doubles kept en suite. Guests share a kitchen for self-catering, a laundry room and a lounge decorated with retro furniture rather than a standard budget-hostel fit-out. Bikes and boards can be locked away in secure storage, useful given the town's surfing and cycling traffic. Dogs are welcome for a small charge per stay. Groups can book the whole building rather than individual rooms, a common arrangement for walking parties working the John Muir Way. Private rooms are priced below most local hotel rates, with dorm beds cheaper still.
