The Fraser Centre occupies the former Winton Cinema on Winton Place in central Tranent, a picture house that ran from 1922 until 1972. The building was brought back into use by The Fraser Centre Community Trust, a Scottish charity formed in 2011 to return film to the town and create a community hub. It now runs as a going concern with two screens, seating 108 and 50, showing recent releases and live-streamed events, alongside a café, activity rooms and offices to let. The programme includes dementia-inclusive screenings and showings designed for people with additional support needs, and a film ticket can be paired with a discounted breakfast in the café. The centre is run largely by local volunteers and trustees rather than a commercial operator, and offers training in barista, cookery and craft skills. Screenings and events run through the week.
