Victor Indigo November opened in 2023 in one of the railway arches on Wellington Street, part of Gateshead's Railway Quarter regeneration. Founders Charlotte and Lorrie Fenwick left previous careers to set up what they describe as Gateshead's first dedicated wine shop and tasting room, focusing heavily on French producers alongside a wider international list, much of it not widely stocked elsewhere in the North East. Alongside bottles to take away, the arch functions as a tasting space where customers can drink in with cheese and charcuterie boards sourced to match the wines. The business operates as a single independent site rather than a chain, trading on direct relationships with smaller growers and importers rather than volume wholesalers.
