Viscounts occupies a former church hall of around a century's age on Northland Row in Dungannon, converted into a themed restaurant by owner Nigel Scott and trading since 1994. The listed building keeps its cathedral-style timber ceiling and gothic stained-glass windows, and the interior leans into a medieval banqueting theme with heavy furniture and period detail. The kitchen works with locally sourced meat and produce across a broad menu of grills, steaks and traditional dishes aimed at families and larger groups. The restaurant received the Belfast Telegraph Blue Ribbon award, which named it among the province's leading restaurants. It has remained a single independent site under the same ownership for three decades, distinct from any chain, and functions as one of Dungannon's better-known dining rooms for celebrations and group bookings as well as everyday meals.
