Y Seler occupies a Georgian building on Aberaeron's Market Street, its side entrance still bearing a datestone reading Alban Thomas 1807. Run by the Thomas family, Llyr and Llinos, it grew out of their existing Cellar Restaurant into a three-floor operation with two dining rooms, a Piano Lounge bar and nine bedrooms above. The kitchen builds breakfast, lunch and evening menus around seasonal Welsh produce, including Cardigan Bay fish and local lamb, with a tapas menu running through the afternoon in both bars. Sunday lunch is a fixed weekly menu, and the piano in the upstairs lounge gives that room its name. The reimagining of a restaurant that has traded on the same site under different guises, Y Seler keeps a reputation for straightforward, well-sourced Welsh cooking while adding rooms upstairs for overnight guests.
