Ye Olde Dolphin Inne stands on Queen Street in Derby's Cathedral Quarter and is recognised as the city's oldest pub, with a timber-framed structure dating from the 1530s. The building is Grade II listed and its interior features on CAMRA's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors, retaining low beamed ceilings, worn stone flooring and a warren of small connecting rooms and snugs. A single independent operation, it serves cask ales alongside a food menu from noon daily, with a steak bar running Thursday to Saturday evenings. A beer garden with heated lamps extends trade through the colder months, and Sunday evenings bring a long-running quiz night. It remains a fixture of Derby's real ale scene.
